Secret counterpart of the visible

"Meaning is invisible, but the invisible is not contradictory of the visible, the visible itself has an invisible inner framework, and the in-visible is the secret counterpart of the visible"
- Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Working Notes, circa 1961.

Throw Down Your Heart

Alleyway fence in Eugene.  Don't know if related... title of Bela Fleck's 2009 album tracing African roots of th banjo. Throw Down Your Heart translates from Bagamoyo, a town in Tanzania where centuries ago enslaved Africans were led to ships that would carry them to other countries. Musician John Kitime: slaves knew that they were not going to see their homes again. So it was time to "throw down their hearts" before leaving.
